Sheridan Clean Up Program
Keeping Our City Beautiful
This program started in 2001. It has been a major success as City residents and businesses have been able to clean up their properties and homes for a minimal charge.
This clean up day is now held on an annual basis during the spring. The city has changed to a pick-up style method rather than a collection point system. Using this system, the City comes to your home to pick up yard-type trash, debris, furniture, batteries, and appliances. Each household will be limited to one pick-up-sized load.
Additional Material Vouchers
Vouchers are used for residents to take recyclables such as clean wood, branches, concrete, or asphalt to Oxford Recycling, located at 2400 West Oxford Avenue. Vouchers will be available at the Sheridan Municipal Center, 4101 South Federal Boulevard, during the week prior to the Clean Up Day. You can also call the Public Works hot line at 303-738-9426, and a voucher will be delivered to you prior to the Clean Up Day.
There is no limit to how many vouchers you may get, but you must be a City of Sheridan resident to use them. Vouchers are valid for the designated Clean Up Day only.
Residents wishing to participate in the program and have their trash picked up must call the Sheridan Municipal Center at 303-762-2200 at least one week prior to the Clean Up Day. There will be a $20 charge for the pick up. Residents must be at home at the time of the pick up or, if that's not possible, you may pre-pay at the Sheridan Municipal Center, located at 4101 South Federal Boulevard.
Residents who have only one or two items will be charged $5 per item, with a limit of two. Residents who have special needs must notify the City when you call, and a City staff member will contact you for your needs and eligibility. Residents will be called on Friday evening to verify their pick-up.
No hazardous materials will be picked up, such as automotive fluids, paint, or chemicals. All trash must be at the curbside before 8:00 am on the day of your pick up, and no trash will be allowed curbside until the day before the designated Clean Up Day.
This program is in conformance with the City's Phase II MS4 Stormwater State Permit. Anyone who has questions about the Clean Up Day or wants to report illegal dumping may call 303-738-9426.
