Help for Families Who Lost Someone to COVID
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many families, especially those who lost a loved one. As part of its mission to help people before, during, and after a disaster, FEMA continues to offer Funeral Assistance for COVID-related funeral expenses. If someone paid funeral expenses for a victim of COVID, it is not too late to apply for up to $9,000 in reimbursement for eligible funeral and burial expenses. The first step for an individual is to call 844-684-6333 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mountain time, Monday through Friday. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020, for a death attributed to COVID-19.
