DrivingChange Bond Improvements Program
DrivingChange Bond Improvements Program
In 2016, the City of Sheridan launched DrivingChange, the voter-approved Sheridan Bond Improvements Program to enhance the community through a series of reconstruction projects addressing street, sidewalk, drainage and stormwater issues.
The November 3, 2015 bond initiative passed by more than half of voters. DrivingChange is critical for the community because 75 percent of Sheridan's streets are in fair or poor condition, with crumbling sidewalks, drainage issues causing water damage, and areas with high accident rates and traffic congestion. Each year these issues weren't addressed, the cost for repairs increased by more than $1 million. Construction cost for all the projects combined is estimated at $31 million and will take approximately four years to complete with an estimated monthly tax impact of $9.92 per $100,000 of a home's actual market value.

DrivingChange Project Team Add Sidewalks, Gutters and Curbs throughout the City
This fall the DrivingChange Project Team worked on almost every street in the Fort Logan – North Gate Neighborhoods. This included paving, new sidewalks, gutters and curbs which has transformed the entire community. The team will continue to work on landscaping and punchlist items.
The project team would like to remind residents that the use of salts, de-icers and other chemicals can quickly corrode and damage them. Please do not use any chemicals (salts, de-icers, etc.) on the new sidewalks, curbs and gutters for at least one year after installation. When the City receives a significant amount of cumulative snow cover, it is the residents and businesses responsibility to clear their sidewalk within 24 hours.
