The City Council cancelled the City’s Municipal election that would have been held on November 5, 2019. The only matter on the ballot was the election of five Council Members. State statute states that an election can be cancelled if there are not more candidates than offices to be filled. The City of Sheridan passed Resolution No. 28-2019 on September 9, 2019 directing the City Clerk, as the City’s designated election official, to cancel the election for the five Council Members, and to declare that the candidates be declared elected.
Congratulations to the new City Council Members:
Ward 1:
David Black (4 year term)
Donald G Smith (2 year term)
Ward 2:
Sally Daigle (4 year term)
Ward 3:
Dallas Hall (4 year term)
Juanita Camacho (2 year term)
These Council Members will be sworn in at the City Council Meeting on November 25th, 2019.
